Youth Opportunities

CHRISTIAN EDUCATION is available for Middle School (grades 6-8) and Senior High (grades 9-12) at 10:20 a.m.

UNITED METHODIST YOUTH FELLOWSHIP is offered on Sunday evenings from 6-7:30. The Middle School and Senior High groups have a youth page with their schedule in the church newsletter. Our U.M.Y.F. groups participate in many activities such as concerts, retreats, and service projects.

MISSION TRIPS are part of our youth ministry. The Senior High Youth experience a week’s work mission out of town.

YOUTH COUNCIL meets monthly during the school year and is comprised of the Youth Director, youth leaders, U.M.Y.F. officers, and interested parents. The council works to improve communication, and the effectiveness of our youth ministry.

CONFIRMATION is held during the regular school year on Wednesday evenings for those in 7th grade or above. The class explores membership in the church and is led by the Youth Director.

SUMMER CAMPS: The Detroit Conference of the United Methodist Church offers a wide variety of camping opportunities throughout the state for every age, race, community, and handicapped condition. Information is distributed in early spring, and scholarships are available.

CHRYSALIS is the name chosen for the Youth Walk to Emmaus because it symbolizes faith growth, the spiritual growth that is necessary between adolescence and adulthood. Chrysalis is open to high school sophomores, juniors, and seniors of any denomination.
